SAT
Taking the SAT is optional, not required; however, many higher education institutions require SAT scores as part of the admissions process. Students may want to check with the college(s) of their choice to determine if taking the SAT is right for them.
The SAT is comprised of three multiple-choice tests that cover reading, writing and language, and math. There is also an optional essay section.
